The Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, Benin City, has recorded another remarkable national achievement as Dr Margaret Osahon emerged as the Second-Best Participant at the Grand Finale of the National Women in Education Award 2026, organized by the African Forum for Innovative Teachers (AFFIT) in Abuja.
The National Women in Education Award is a flagship initiative of AFFIT, a professional platform of the Standtall Africa Initiative, established to identify, celebrate, and honour exceptional women scholars, researchers, educators, and academic leaders whose contributions continue to advance educational research, innovation, and national development.
The 2026 edition, conducted in collaboration with COEASU and NCCE, brought together outstanding female lecturers nominated by Colleges of Education across Nigeria. Following a rigorous two-month process involving research assessment, interviews, and scholarly evaluation, the Grand Finale recognized distinguished women who demonstrated excellence in scholarship, innovation, leadership, and educational service.
Further highlighting the College's impressive performance, Dr Margaret Osahon and Mrs Victoria Afekhai were selected into the AFFIT Research Group, while Dr Olive Bruce was formally inducted as a research Fellow of AFFIT. These outstanding accomplishments underscore the growing reputation of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, as an institution committed to academic excellence, quality research, and professional development.
