A HISTORIC HANDING-OVER CEREMONY AT THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL), EKIADOLOR

The 500-Seater Theatre Hall of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor was filled with excitement on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, as staff, students, and guests gathered for the handing-over ceremony of outgoing principal officers.

The event began with the entrance of the Provost’s entourage, accompanied by a lively solidarity song that set the tone for the occasion. The gathering included members of the Governing Council, management, staff, students, and representatives of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), reflecting the importance of the ceremony.

Goodwill messages highlighted the achievements of the outgoing Provost, particularly in staff welfare and academic development, while expressing confidence in the incoming leadership. Cultural performances by the Demonstration Staff School and the college troupe added colour and emotion to the programme.

The highlight of the ceremony was the formal handing-over of office documents to the incoming Provost, Dr. Lawrence Aluede Osagiede marking a smooth transition of leadership Gifts were presented to the outgoing Provost and principle officers.

The event concluded with the presentation of gifts and appreciation to the outgoing officers, bringing a memorable and symbolic ceremony to a close.
