FCET Ekiadolor Inaugurates First-Ever Elected SUG & SRC Executives in Historic Ceremony EKIADOLOR

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, on 15th May 2026 inaugurated its first democratically elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) and Student Representative Council (SRC) executives, marking a major milestone in the college’s history.

The ceremony, held at the College Conference Room, was presided over by the College Registrar, Mrs. Juliet Ojapah, who represented the Provost, Dr. Lawrence Aluede Osagiede. Also present were the College Bursar, Dr. Alfred Akoku; COEASU Chairman, Comrade Joshua Bisong; SSUCOEN Chairman, Comrade Monday Agbonlahor; Ad-Hoc Student Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Dominic John Ayuk; and members of his committee. Both teaching and non-teaching staff were also in attendance.

The Registrar congratulated the newly elected leaders and described the event as the "first of its kind." She urged the executives to work collaboratively with the College Management, emphasizing that the success of the Students' Union would depend on a shared commitment to the progress of the institution. "The role is not to fight management, but to work hand in hand with management. It will only pay off if the school moves forward, and that is what we are all here for—progress," she stated.

The oath of office was administered by the College Legal Officer, Barr. Charity Emordi, after which the executives signed documents of good conduct and were presented with Certificates of Return by the Registrar. Former SUG President, Comrade Daniel Omoregie, formally handed over union documents to the incoming president.

Union leaders advised the new executives to prioritize student welfare, remain transparent, and adopt a diplomatic approach in handling issues affecting the student body. Dr. Alfred Akoku reminded them that academic excellence should remain their primary focus, while the newly elected SUG President pledged that his administration would be transparent and intentional in promoting student welfare.

The inauguration followed a peaceful election conducted by the Ad-Hoc Student Electoral Committee under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Dominic John Ayuk and Secretary Mrs. Aganwomnyi Esther. Palmer Igho Evans of the Department of Early Childhood Care Education emerged as SUG President with 173 votes, defeating Babatunde Adeniyi of the School of Technical Education, who polled 121 votes.

The elected SUG executives are: Palmer Igho Evans (President); Osagie Anthony Okoduwa (Vice President); Akpor Iyebgekosa Precious (General Secretary); God’s Love Samuel (Assistant General Secretary); Lilian Nzete (Treasurer); Okonigbe Naomi (Director of Finance); Igume Moses (Director of Transportation); Ese-Rich Enabulele (Director of Information and Publicity); Igbinosa Kenneth Favour (Director of Social and Culture); Nosakhare Victor (Director of Sports); Osawemen Miracle (Director of Welfare); and Asuen O.
