Federal College of Education Technical, Ekiadolor is government owned College of Education located in Edo State, Southern part of Nigeria. The College was one of the government approved tertiary institutions in Nigeria by the Administration of President Buhari in 2019. The institution served as a Centre for training of School Teachers in Nigeria. The College of Education awards National Certificates in Education (NCE) to its graduates as it is a mandatory requirement for those who want to work as a teacher in a Nigerian school.

The College has rich resource and scientific asset which enables student development and promotes economic, technological and social change. It promotes the exchange of knowledge, research and innovation and equips students with the skills needed to meet ever changing labour markets. The College promote and encourage teacher education in Nigeria and also gives students education for development and self-reliance.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

1. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE
The Federal College of Education (Technical) Ekiadolor, Benin, Edo State was among the six (6) Newly Established Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) in October 2021. The following officers were appointed as pioneer Principal Officers of the College.
    1. Dr. Emmanuel Nkoro Asagha - Provost.
    2. Mr. Henry O. Itedjere, - Registrar.
    3. Mr. Solomon Ediae - Bursar
    4. Dr. Tony Obaseki - College Librarian.
In April 2022, the Edo State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Godwin Obaseki handed over the defunct Edo State College of Education structure in Ekiadolor to the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Minister of Education represented by the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education, Prof. Paulinus Okwelle Chijioke for the immediate take off of the College.

The College started on a right footing with the inauguration of the Governing Council of the College in 2022 with the appointment of the following Governing Council Members

The College commenced Academic activities with 4 schools and 17 departments for the award of Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C.E). These schools are:

TOTAL NUMBERS OF STAFF IN THE COLLEGE
The College officially commenced operation with a total of 154 staff, with 25 Adhoc staff, 15 Cleaners and 25 Security Personnel.
TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN THE COLLEGE
The Total Number of student admitted to the college as at date, 325, out of which 10 students are on scholarship by the Provost.

RESUMPTION AND COMMENCEMENT OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
The College officially resumed on the 4th of August 2022, For Administrative and Academic preparations. The students resumed on the 2nd of December 2022, while Lectures started on the 19th of December 2022.
